We are delighted to confirm that the Glasgow City Foundation have been recognised for it’s work in the community with a nomination in the Sport Category of the Inspiring City Awards 2025.

Relaunched earlier this year by The Herald, in collaboration with Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, the Inspiring City Awards aimed to seek out organisations and initiatives that were enhancing the life of the city through their social, environmental, cultural and economic activities.

The catalyst was the 850th anniversary of the granting of Glasgow’s charter, an event which triggered the transformation of a small community on the banks of the River Clyde into Scotland’s largest city.

The Glasgow City Foundation has been nominated with Alan Meikle (Hillhead Hockey Club), Scottish Sports Futures and The Scottish Football Partnership Trust.

Speaking on the nomination Academy Manager Sarah Crilly had the following to share.

”It’s hugely exciting to see the Glasgow City Foundation recognised alongside organisation’s committed to inspire through sport.

Glasgow is our home and we will continue striving to make our city one that breaks down barriers for women and girls from all walks of life, using the power of football to champion our message.”

The winners of the awards will be announced on Monday 8th September at the Radisson Blu in Glasgow.
