The Glasgow City Foundation was formed as a SCIO in 2015 to enable the delivery of programs that focus on the health and education of girls and women through sport.
The Foundation enables and empowers over 130 girls and women through our extensive academy which supports girls from the age of six right through to seventeen. It also strives to provide easy access to football for women and girls of all ages and from all backgrounds, providing free community sessions, visiting schools and supporting clubs across the game. Growing the eco-system around the game we all love.
We also work in partnership with Glasgow City FC, Scotland’s most successful women’s football team, founded by two friends who wanted better for women and girls in football, the club of today is run by and led by women.
The Glasgow City Foundation is regulated by OSCR and operated by a Board of Trustees who provide oversight and guidance around the objectives of the Foundation.
Day to day activities are managed by Head of Operations and our Academy Manager. In addition the Foundation reaches out to children in local schools through our various Community Programmes delivering free football and educational sessions.
